Being assertive means being able to stand up for your own or other peoples’ rights in a calm and positive way, without being either aggressive, or passively accepting WRONG. In this class you will learn how to be assertive and not passive. Turn your passive behavior to assertive while being diplomatic and nice while having a sense of humor People can improve their assertiveness through practical exercises and experience. Assertiveness is a social skill that relies heavily on effective communication while simultaneously respecting the thoughts and wishes of others. People who are assertive clearly and respectfully communicate their wants, needs, positions, and boundaries to others. There is no question to where they stand no matter what the topic. They are open to both compliments and construction criticism.
